Parliament to discuss problems of employers in the Federation of BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - At the initiative of the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, Elvir Karajbić, has scheduled a thematic session of this house for Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

The agenda of the thematic session includes the consideration of initiatives for the adoption of laws prepared by the Association of Employers of the Federation of BiH. In mid-March, the Association of Employers of the Federation of BiH sent an initiative to the Government and Parliament of the FBiH for the adoption of initiatives and laws aimed at relieving the economy and improving the business environment in the FBiH and BiH. Among these initiatives are five laws amending existing laws, which were submitted to the Government and Parliament of the FBiH in mid-2018, and relate to the laws on health insurance, fiscal systems, road traffic, privatization of enterprises, and professional rehabilitation, training and employment of persons with disabilities, which will be considered under an expedited procedure.

In addition, the UPFBiH has prepared 20 more draft laws, including new drafts of laws on financial operations, registration of business companies, bankruptcy, occupational safety, strikes, peaceful dispute resolution, employment mediation and social security of unemployed persons, income tax with analysis, contributions with analysis, accounting and auditing, federal administrative fees and the Tariff of federal administrative fees, and on the Economic and Social Council (ESV) of the FBiH.

Amendments to the Law on Health Insurance, the Law on Professional Rehabilitation, Training and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, the Law on Business Companies, the Law on Fiscal Systems, the Law on Profit Tax, the Law on Health Care, the Law on Oil Derivatives, and the Law on Court Fees in proceedings before the Supreme Court of the FBiH have also been prepared.

The adoption of these laws will result in economic relief, a reduction in the grey economy and improved fiscal discipline, a decrease in unemployment, an increase in wages and investments, an enhancement of the competitiveness of the domestic economy, simplification and acceleration of administrative procedures, as well as a reduction in business costs.
