BiH Parliament: Support for Amendments to Public Procurement Law and Criminal Code

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament adopted the Bill on Amendments to the Public Procurement Law and the Bill on Amendments to the BiH Criminal Code at today's session.

The proposers of these laws are representatives Saša Magazinović (SDP BiH), Mira Pekić (SDS-PDP-For Justice and Order), Nihad Omerović (NiP), Sabina Ćudić (NS-BHI KF), and Jasmin Emrić (mixed club).

One of the proposers - Saša Magazinović, during the discussion, stated that nothing in the mentioned laws is changing except that those who steal will no longer be able to pay a fine for an offense, but will go to prison.

Magazinović previously explained that for companies involved in fraud in public procurement procedures, instead of the current financial penalties, prison sentences, bans on conducting business, and high fines are foreseen.

For those who announce tenders, instead of the current symbolic fines for serious abuses in public procurement and rigged tenders, prison sentences are foreseen.

Representatives also supported the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Financing of BiH Institutions and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Borrowing, Debt, and Guarantees of BiH.

In the second round of voting, under an urgent procedure, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the Public Radio-Television Service of BiH was adopted. Dževdet Tuzlić, Jozo Pavković, Kosta Petrušić, and Ljubomir Zuber were elected as members of the Management Board of the Public RTV Service of BiH.
