Paris is romantic, that is already known, but that does not mean it has the exclusive right to be so, and it is certainly not the only destination where lovers express their love, reports the Patria news agency.

CNN, ahead of the upcoming Valentine's Day, presents a list of 10 lesser-known but equally romantic destinations.

This interesting list includes the following destinations: Udaipur (India), Waiheke Island (New Zealand), Cafayate (Argentina), Hoi An (Vietnam), Quirimbas Islands (Mozambique), Middleburg (USA), Peter Island (British Virgin Islands), Vernazza (Italy), Galle (Sri Lanka), and also one destination in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mostar.

There was nothing romantic about Mostar two decades ago, when it was a bombing target during the 1992-1995 war.

However, this medieval city decided to restore its pre-war glory thanks to the help of UNESCO and the World Bank during the ten-year restoration of the Old Bridge.

The revived Old Bridge and old town of Mostar embody a kaleidoscope of cultures and ideas with features of Ottoman, Mediterranean, and Western European architecture.

The bridge itself is a symbol of reconciliation and ethnic harmony in the Balkans, and your heart and soul will be filled by the enchanting old town, known for its stone streets, colorful shops, and multi-ethnic restaurants that sprawl like ivy along the banks of the turquoise Neretva River.

Mostar's war scars remain in the shadows, but the number of couples in love on the Old Bridge is a sufficient indicator of its irresistible romance.
