Money talks where the drill won't: Priests consecrate a nightclub in Zaječar!

Father Zoran Golubović, brother of Timok Bishop Ilarion and head priest of the Cathedral Church in Zaječar, consecrated the nightclub “Dorian Gray” in that city, Patria reports.

Judging by the reactions, the public is once again surprised by the appearance of clergy in an inappropriate place.

Money talks where the drill won't – the head priest of the Cathedral Church in Zaječar, Father Zoran Golubović, with his colleague, guided or not by this maxim, consecrated a nightclub, writes Belgrade's B92. 

To make the absurdity even greater, the club is called Dorian Gray, after Oscar Wilde's cult novel, “The Picture of Dorian Gray”.

Everyone who has read this novel knows that it contains homosexual scenes, hedonism, debauchery and murder, in short, everything the Church is against.

Perhaps the church fathers of Zaječar have not read Oscar Wilde, but they know that greed is one of the seven deadly sins.

And what do the citizens of Zaječar say about all this?

“What can I tell you, if such things happen, I am disgusted with the priests. We have the opinion that they are God's people, but there are no such things,” says one female citizen of Zaječar.

“What they are doing is not right, it is unbecoming of them. I really have no comment,” adds her fellow citizen.

“For money, anything is possible, but this should be a question of ethics,” says a female resident of Zaječar.
