Pope on Medjugorje: The superstar Madonna is not a Catholic

In the jubilee 4000th issue of the Jesuit magazine Civiltà cattolica, Pope Francis again commented on the phenomenon of Medjugorje, Patria reports.

Commenting on the reason why he chose Marian themes for World Youth Day, the Pope said that such themes were chosen in Latin America.

"They respect Our Lady there, but the real one. Not the post office manager Our Lady who sends a different letter every day saying: My children, do this and then the next day do something else. No, not that one. The real Our Lady is the one who generates Jesus in our hearts, who is a mother. This fashion of the superstar Madonna, who is the protagonist and puts herself at the center, is not a Catholic," the Pope said.

He also spoke about corruption in the Vatican, as well as priestly abuse of children.

"There is corruption in the Vatican as well. When a problem arises, I write a message on a piece of paper to Saint Joseph and place it under the statuette I keep in my room. Now he is sleeping on a mattress of paper slips.

If priests or religious are involved in abuse, it is clear that the devil is at work, destroying Jesus' work. Let us be clear - it is a disease," commented Pope Francis, Index reports.
