(Patria) - For the second year in a row, Christmas Eve and Christmas are celebrated under the sign of the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, this year too, in accordance with the epidemiological situation, Pope Francis in the Vatican, in St. Peter's Basilica, celebrated midnight mass already at 7:30 PM in front of a limited number of believers. The Pope highlighted the poor in his sermon.
"Jesus was born in poverty. This should remind us that serving others is more important than seeking status in society and wasting life in the pursuit of success. Jesus wants to be celebrated through the poor. In this night of love, let us fear only one thing: that we do not offend God's love, that we do not hurt him with our indifference, by despising the poor. Jesus loves them and one day they will welcome us into heaven," said Pope Francis.
Despite everything, the Pope called on everyone not to sink into pessimism because Christmas is a holiday of hope, joy, and optimism. And how to maintain it, according to the Pope, is by taking care of each other.
The Vatican yesterday reaffirmed its positive stance on vaccination.
