A patient and a nurse from Split KBC are receiving preventive medication due to the risk of HIV infection after the hospital admitted a man last Saturday who had hidden his HIV-positive status from doctors, reports the Patria News Agency.
The infected man underwent dialysis, and after him, a young man came for regular dialysis who now has to wait a month for blood test results to find out if he is infected. A nurse from the Cardiology Department, who allegedly drew blood from the infected man without gloves, is in the same uncertainty.
The Croatian Ministry of Health states that the services are doing what they need to do.
