
Rejhan Demirdžić was a Bosnian-Herzegovinian theatre, film, radio and television actor, as well as a television screenwriter.
He was born on this day, 2 January 1927, in Sarajevo, Patria reports.
Demirdžić was certainly a giant of Bosnian-Herzegovinian acting. He made his first appearance at the Sarajevo National Theatre in 1943. From 1945 to 1955, he performed in theatres in Šabac, Titovo Užice and Niš, after which he returned to Sarajevo.
Listeners of Radio Sarajevo remember him for playing, together with Rudi Alvađ, the very popular characters Uzeir and Momo, after whom Sarajevans also named two skyscrapers in the city.
Film lovers know Demirdžić for his roles in films and series: Diverzanti (1967), Derviš i smrt (1974), Sarajevski atentat (1975), Husinska buna (1980), Miris dunja (1982), Porobdžije (1976), Tale (1977), Kože (1982), as well as many other roles.
He died on 22 August 1988 in Sarajevo, NAP reports.
