Palmer and Eichhorst with the Opposition: Radončić Categorised Negotiations as a 'Three-Lane Highway'

(Patria) - "So, the people didn't offer any solution, we were still talking about everything. I can say that I am satisfied with today's performance of this team and the fact that we managed to affirm those conclusions of the opposition parties that were signed in the State Parliament, where we insisted that the first step of the story is ensuring fair and honest elections, which is very important for us as opposition parties, but I believe for the public as well. And here, if this entire process fails, if nothing happens, we will certainly have fair and honest elections in 2022," said Nermin Nikšić, President of the SDP, after the meeting with Matthew Palmer, the US Special Envoy for Electoral Reform, and Angelina Eichhorst, Director at the European External Action Service.

"The abolition of the ethnic prefix when it comes to the Constitution was mentioned again. The story opens up about what was discussed at the dinner of the three national leaders at the European Commission regarding state property, amendments to the Incko Law, constitutional and electoral reform, but we focused on these conclusions, insisted on them, and I think we succeeded, that the representatives of the international community accepted them. So, if the ruling party wants the support of the opposition, then they must first give the opposition a guarantee that we will have fair and honest elections," said Nikšić.

The President of Our Party, Edin Forto, said that the topics were election integrity, automatic counting, scanning, video surveillance at polling stations, preventing changes to polling boards...

"So, what enables us to have fair elections is crucial for us to even talk about other things. I think today we, as a group, put that very firmly on the table," said Forto.

Fahrudin Radončić, leader of the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB), said that the process is unfolding like a three-lane highway.

"In one lane are fair and honest elections, raising election standards, the second is the Houses of Peoples, the third is the election of members of the Presidency. What I can say on my own behalf, I think the problem is not in the opposition, but rather in the secret policies of all three leaders, whose hostages are the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, and because of whose policies they are massively leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Radončić.
