(Patria) - Photojournalist from Gaza, Motaz Azaiza, paid tribute to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide today.
"Genocide is happening in Gaza. More than 40,000 people have been killed and it is not even recognized as genocide by the international community. The same happened here. Today we have modern media, we show everything in real time. What happened here is now happening in Gaza.
People here truly empathize with us and feel the pain we are going through. They have shown me great support, the kind I haven't had before. We are all sorry that it took the international community 29 years to recognize this as an international day,” said Motaz Azaiza, a photojournalist from Gaza. What happened in Srebrenica is now happening in Gaza.
Azaiza said that BiH was not occupied for 75 years, but they were occupied for many years and they know what we feel and say.
"Does the whole world need to go through what we have to feel empathy for us?", said Azaiza.
He also emphasized that he is grateful to see a large number of Palestinian flags in Potočari.
