Palestinian Ambassador to BiH: We Are Proud That the World Has Begun to Open Its Eyes

(Patria) - Palestinian Ambassador to BiH Rezeq Namoora says he feels great joy over the recognition of the Palestinian state, especially at a time when global support for his country is growing.

During an appearance on the show Špica on Television Sarajevo, Namoora said this confirms one truth - that Palestinians have chosen the right path, the path toward peace, while on the other hand he strongly condemns the genocide that shows no sign of ending.

- As a Palestinian, first and foremost, and not just as an ambassador, I have greater confidence. This is confirmation that we have chosen the right path and that we made the right choices in the past.

We are proud of the fact that the world has begun to open its eyes and condemn what the Israeli government is doing.

We had more than 100 countries that recognized Palestine, including BiH, which recognized Palestine at that time. Now we have more than 150 countries that have recognized Palestine.

Despite the genocide and war, we always feel optimism because we are fighting for our rights and freedom, and we want independence. Some EU countries were late in recognizing the Palestinian state.

The EU is a major world power and we hope it will take greater steps toward Israel because of what they are doing. We are grateful to all countries that have recognized Palestine.

However, we are facing major crimes that are happening before the entire world - Namoora points out.
