The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a red warning to citizens due to high temperatures over the weekend, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Climate experts from Sarajevo predict that on Saturday, temperatures in the north and south of Bosnia and Herzegovina will rise to 40 degrees Celsius, and on Sunday a degree or more higher.
Due to such weather, citizens are advised not to expose themselves too much to the sun, or to use protection.
Doctors have also issued a warning, recommending maximum caution during high temperatures. Those with health issues must be especially careful.
