New Year's Gift Packages for Children of Former Underage Volunteers in Sarajevo

The Association of Fighters - Underage Volunteers of the Defensive-Liberation War of Sarajevo Canton distributed more than a hundred New Year's gift packages for children whose parents are members of the Association, and a festive entertainment program was also organized for the little ones.

The secretary of this association, Sibel Sarić, told Patria that the Association of Fighters - Underage Volunteers of the Defensive-Liberation War of Sarajevo Canton gathers more than 350 former fighters of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the area of this canton, who joined the defense of the country in 1992 even though they had not yet turned 18.

Sarić says that this population is forgotten today. A large number of former underage fighters are now in poor financial condition.

- We are trying to help our most vulnerable members. And those who do not need that kind of help, we try to keep together – said Sarić.
