Rainfall in Maglaj causes floods again

Maglaj was hit by a severe storm on Wednesday in the late afternoon hours, accompanied by heavy rainfall and thunder, which caused new floods, writes the BH news agency Patria.

The population in Stari Grad and Donja Mahala had the biggest problems, and landslides and flooded roads occurred at the entrances to the city.

Traffic on the Maglaj - Zavidovići route was blocked for more than two hours. The water brought new troubles to the city center as well, and several garages in the city were flooded. The basement of the Health Center, which also suffered major damage in the May floods, was also flooded.

Meteorologists' forecasts are not optimistic as new rainfall is expected, and a red alert has been issued for the Herzegovina region with large amounts of rainfall per square meter from 60 to 100 mm, while an orange weather alert has been activated for the rest of the country.
