(Patria) - After agreeing on a joint appearance in the upcoming local elections in Mostar at the end of January, the Democratic Front (DF), the People's European Party (NES), the Party for BiH (SBiH) and the First Mostar Party (PMP) signed a Coalition Agreement today.
The coalition, named "My City - DF, NES, SBiH and PMP", was confirmed by the signatures of the presidents of the city organizations: Zoran Mikulić, Maid Čolaković, Samir Kreso, and Semir Drljević – Lovac.
The coalition "My City - DF, NES, SBiH and PMP" expects dominant support from the citizens of Mostar in the October elections to ensure the prerequisites for realizing the goals of our Platform, the Coalition stated.
- The City of Mostar must be organized as a single, indivisible unit of local self-government, the administrative, economic, and cultural center of Herzegovina with all the prerogatives of a City in terms of the European Charter of Local Self-Government and the valid regulations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the same time, a wide range of services must be provided to citizens through regional offices, and local communities, as the basic form of organization in the city area, must be ensured adequate roles and competencies.
- The civic principle of living should be respected in the City of Mostar, with full equality of all peoples and citizens living in Mostar, regardless of their religious, national, racial, or any other affiliation.
- Increasing the quality of life for people with ecological responsibility towards present and future generations
- Fighting corruption, nepotism, and clientelism, which have hijacked the city of Mostar and society from the domain of public interest and placed them in the service of private interests.
- In the future, Mostar should be recognized for democracy and mutual respect among all ethnic groups and citizens living in it, in line with the family of modern European cities to which Mostar, with its values, cosmopolitanism, and heritage, belongs.
- Mostar – a safe city.
- Defining development priorities in open democratic processes with citizens.
-Ensuring gender and sexual equality in all areas of life and preventing and fighting violence against women and domestic violence.
-We strongly oppose the principle of national exclusivity and divisions, which are often affirmed by some representatives of the international community, according to which everything in Mostar, including governance, functions on a kind of "dualism".
-Prevention of hate speech and discrimination.
-Creating an open and transparent city administration, with developed instruments of civic oversight and other forms of citizen participation in decision-making.
-Promoting and advocating for the rule of law, strengthening civilizational values, building a future without divisions, and a European modern Mostar.
-Putting the interests of Mostar and its citizens above any party interests, we are ready to offer a joint list of the best candidates from all political options and civic initiatives gathered around this Platform in the local elections for the City of Mostar, who will act in the City Council of Mostar with only one goal – to protect the interests of all citizens of Mostar.
This Platform is open to all political entities and non-governmental organizations that accept it and are willing to direct their capacities towards fighting the two ethno-national blocs and all ethnic homogenizations, and affirming the multi-ethnic and anti-fascist character of the City of Mostar, the Coalition stated.
