Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council did not elect city councilors due to complaint to the CEC regarding one of the lists

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council, at today's emergency session, did not elect councilors for the City Council because independent councilor Srđan Srdić filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission regarding one of the candidate lists.

Today's session was adjourned at that point, and the date for the continuation of the session will be determined after the CEC makes a decision on Srdić's complaint.

At today's session, a decision was made that the three deputy chairpersons of the Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council will not be professionalized, meaning they will not enter into employment relationships and will not receive a salary exceeding 3,000 KM. The three deputy chairpersons come from SDP BiH, NIP, and NBL, and this decision is in line with the Sarajevo Agreement signed by the 'Four' coalition before the 2020 Local Elections.

So far, city councilors have been elected from the Municipal Councils of Stari Grad and Centar, and the Municipal Council of Novi Grad is expected to do the same on Thursday.
