1,000 People Attended the Opening of the Mosque in Daljegošta

Around 1,000 people attended the opening of the renovated mosque in Daljegošta, residents of Skelani, Daljegošta and Srebrenica, as well as representatives of the Islamic Community in BiH and officials, said Ćamil Duraković, Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality, for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- The renovated mosque was opened as part of the commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks, and it is the last program activity for this year - said Duraković.

The mosque in Daljegošta was demolished on May 15, 1992, and about 200,000 KM was invested in its reconstruction. In addition to the mosque itself, a complex was built consisting of a public fountain, a tomb, a place for ritual ablution, a house for the imam, and a cemetery. Among others, the opening was attended by Mufti Prof. Dr. Aziz ef. Hasanović, President of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community of Croatia as envoy of the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazović, President of the Majlis of the Islamic Community Srebrenica Alija Tabaković, Tuzla Mufti Vahid ef. Fazlović, as well as Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality Ćamil Duraković.
