Healthy Aging Centers Opened in Modriča and Šamac – Domaljevac

As part of the project "Establishment of Centers for the Third Age in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska", implemented by the Association "Partnership for Public Health BiH" and the Center for Healthy Aging Novo Sarajevo in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNFPA BiH), healthy aging centers were officially opened on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in the municipalities of Modriča and Šamac – Domaljevac, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The official opening of the centers was attended by the Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality, Nedžad Koldžo, with his associates and members of the Aging Center of this municipality, which is the first of its kind ever opened in BiH.

The mayors of Modriča and Šamac – Domaljevac municipalities thanked the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and Mayor Koldžo for the support and assistance they received during the project implementation, especially for transferring acquired knowledge and exchanging experiences from project planning to the opening of the Healthy Aging Center.

Otherwise, the Healthy Aging Center of Novo Sarajevo Municipality was recently declared the Regional Development Center for Active and Healthy Aging by the Health Network of Southeast Europe.
