Two vaccination points opened for healthy children without appointment, 11 measles cases confirmed in Sarajevo

(Patria) - Two special vaccination points located at the Vrazova Health Center and Saraj Polje Health Center have started operating, where healthy children will be vaccinated without prior notice or appointment, every day in two shifts.

All school and preschool dispensaries, as well as other health centers with enough pediatricians and where healthy children can be separated from sick ones, will continue to perform vaccinations.

All residents from the General Hospital, KCUS, and other healthcare institutions are invited to join the vaccination teams at the Health Center, as well as pediatricians returning from vacation, and retired doctors, all with the aim of vaccinating as many children as possible and preventing the spread of the disease.

The possibility of engaging pediatricians from private practices for child examinations is also being considered.

It is advised to avoid mass gatherings, visits to shopping malls, playrooms, and organized birthday parties.

The Public Health Institute of KS will inform the public and healthcare institutions daily about the number of vaccinated patients, and according to announcements from the KS Health Center, an epidemic of measles should be declared today.

KS Minister of Health Enis Hasanović said that the number of measles patients is increasing in the Sarajevo Canton, but that the situation is under control for now.

So far, there are 11 confirmed cases in Sarajevo.
