Sports Centre 'Prekounje' Opens: A New Step Forward for Bihać and Sport in Una-Sana Canton

(Patria) - With the ceremonial opening of the Sports Centre "Prekounje", Bihać has received one of the most modern sports facilities in the region. This important project, realised thanks to the persistence and dedication of the OFK Bihać management, represents a significant step forward for the development of sport and sports infrastructure in the Una-Sana Canton.

The opening of the Sports Centre "Prekounje" followed more than two years of hard work, which included many challenges, but also strong support from the community, partners and donors.



The centre became a reality thanks to the dedicated efforts of a group of about ten people, as well as the support of numerous partners, including Elvedin Sedić, the City of Bihać, the Government of the Una-Sana Canton, UNHCR, the UEFA Foundation for Children and Bosnienfreunde Hamm.

„This is the day we have been waiting for, the day when we can say that we have succeeded. With the opening of this facility, we have set new standards for sports infrastructure, not only in Bihać, but also beyond.

This is a symbol of the effort, unity and dedication of all of us who worked on this project,“ said a representative of the OFK Bihać management.



The Sports Centre "Prekounje" is not only a modern sports facility, but a place where youth and amateur sports will develop, and where opportunities for physical activity and recreation will be provided to all citizens of Bihać and beyond. The centre will also host numerous sports events and happenings that will make Bihać recognisable on the sports map of the region.

„Our goal did not stop here. The next step will be the construction of a large football pitch, as well as further reconstruction and improvement of this centre so that it can compete with the best sports facilities in Europe,“ added the club representative.

The OFK Bihać management thanks all partners and donors for their selfless support, which made the realisation of this significant project possible. They also thank all citizens of Bihać who, with their signatures and support, made this dream a reality.

For all sports lovers in Bihać, "Prekounje" is now a place where future sports champions will be created, young talents will gather, as well as all those who enjoy sports activities.
