Museum 'Walter Defends Sarajevo' Opened

(Patria) - This April 6th, on the birthday of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Museum "Walter Defends Sarajevo" was ceremoniously opened, dedicated to the cult film of the same name by the directorial genius Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac. The museum was opened by the General Director of JP Filmski centar Sarajevo Jasmin Duraković, Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić, Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka, President of the Commission in the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton Nermin Muzur, numerous film workers from BiH, the region, guests, and friends.

Numerous guests attended the opening ceremony, including the Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping, as well as the family of the late actor Bata Živojinović, who played the main role in the film 'Walter Defends Sarajevo'. Bata's family gifted the newly opened Museum a wristwatch he received as a gift, which will be an attractive exhibit in this cultural institution.

The wife of the late Bata Živojinović, Lula Živojinovic, and the wife of the late Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac, Ešrefa Krvavac, supported the museum's opening with their presence.

  As could be heard at the opening, the Museum is much more than that; it is dedicated to the film and the historical figure Vladimir Perić Valter, a famous member of the Resistance Movement and an anti-fascist from World War II.

Numerous congratulations were extended to Filmski centar Sarajevo, which has shown that it has the strength, knowledge, and human resources to initiate projects of wider social interest.
