Genocide Museum Opened in Srebrenica with Support from Turkey and TIKA

(Patria) - The Srebrenica Genocide Museum, which covers the period from 1992, the genocide against Bosniaks, and the period after the summer of 1995, when the struggle for the discovery and identification of the murdered began, was opened today in the complex of the Srebrenica Memorial Center - Potočari.

The museum features installations of mass execution sites, specifically a replica of one of the mass execution sites, the Dom Kulture in Pilica.

Among the installations are mass graves, as well as artifacts found in mass graves, items belonging to genocide victims, personal stories of survivors, the mothers of Srebrenica... One of the walls of the Genocide Museum is dedicated to photographs of genocide victims.

The premises of the Museum were visited today by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmus, who attended the collective funeral for seven victims of the Srebrenica genocide in Potočari.

The museum construction project began in 2021 under the patronage of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The project was completed thanks to the Republic of Turkey, specifically the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), which fully financed it.
