Special laboratory for growing marijuana discovered

BIJELJINA, (Patria) - By order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, an extensive operation is underway in the Bijeljina area and its surroundings from the early morning hours in the fight against drug trafficking.

Police officers of SIPA have located and discovered a specially constructed plantation with climatic and technical conditions for growing the narcotic drug marijuana - "skunk", with a high percentage of THC substance.

The plantation has been placed under police surveillance, and 3 persons have been deprived of their liberty who are connected with the illegal cultivation and trafficking of narcotic drugs.

An investigator from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption is on the ground at the scene, coordinating the work of police agencies participating in the operation.

According to the collected evidence, at the mentioned plantation, using special conditions, marijuana - "skunk", of extremely strong narcotic effect, was grown, which was intended for the drug market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was also smuggled and sold on the drug market of the Republic of Austria.

Significant cooperation was achieved with partner institutions of the Republic of Austria within the scope of the operation.

The persons deprived of their liberty will be handed over to the acting prosecutor, who will question them, after which a decision will be made on further activities in the case.
