Meeting with the Memic family cancelled, Chief Prosecutor Tadić out of BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) – The meeting that was supposed to be held today at the BiH Prosecutor's Office with the family of the murdered youth Dženan Memic has been cancelled because Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić is not in BiH. We remind you that the meeting was originally scheduled for 12:00 PM, and then postponed to 3:00 PM. Today, the father of the murdered youth, Muriz Memic, was told that Prosecutor Tadić could not make it to the meeting at the scheduled time. The meeting is expected to be held on Wednesday, but the time may change again.

Memic confirmed in a statement to the Patria News Agency that the meeting was cancelled, but he did not wish to comment. He briefly stated that he would wait for the meeting.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office formed a case regarding the murder of Dženan Memic last year, and more than a dozen people have been interviewed so far, including the father and sister of the murdered youth, several police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, and other witnesses.

On October 5, 2018, Memic and his lawyer Ifet Feraget filed a criminal complaint with the BiH Prosecutor's Office against more than 40 people, led by the then Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Dalida Burzić, for filing a false indictment for a traffic accident. Burzić was appointed a judge of the BiH Court in February of this year, despite a disciplinary proceeding being conducted against her at the same time for inappropriate contact with the victim's father and giving media statements about the Memic case while the court proceedings were ongoing.

A retrial of Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović for the traffic accident in the case of Dženan Memic's death is underway at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, and a hearing is scheduled for next week. A new traffic expertise has been conducted, and a team of experts visited the scene in Velika aleja, where Memic sustained injuries under still unexplained circumstances on the night of February 8, 2016, and died on February 15, 2016.
