Public New Year's Eve Celebration Cancelled in Banja Luka

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The City of Banja Luka has cancelled tonight's public New Year's Eve celebration, confirmed Mayor Igor Radojičić.

He emphasized that for the safety of citizens, performers, and people from the organization, sound technicians, New Year's concerts in Banja Luka have been cancelled.

The head of Banja Luka cancelled today's Children's New Year's celebration, scheduled for noon at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Banja Luka, as well as all other events for children that were supposed to be held today to celebrate the New Year.

Radojičić pointed out that there will be no concert by Željko Samardžić and Nikola Rokvić tonight, as the city does not want to give cause for any incident.

Thousands of Banja Luka citizens have been demanding for almost a year that the authorities reveal the killers of the 21-year-old young man David Dragičević, accusing the police and political leadership of Republika Srpska of covering up the crime.
