Dismissal of the Director of "Vodovod" or resignation of the responsible minister

MP of Our Party in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Edin Forto reacted to the dissemination of inaccurate information by "Vodovod i kanalizacija" (Water and Sewerage) regarding water restrictions on Sunday in the Sarajevo area.

- First, it was announced that there would be no water from 9 AM to 3 PM. Then, a notice came that it would last an hour longer. Then, when that deadline passed, they said everyone would have water by 5 PM. When that deadline also passed, citizens continued to wait for water for hours. Disseminating false announcements and broken promises caused distress among people. Continuous public deception by those in charge can only be an expression of their radical incompetence and disregard for citizens. There is no other conclusion – but that the authorities and the management they appointed in ViK are mocking the people who complain when there is no water - Forto said.

Forto says that these failures of ViK are a consequence of SDA's long-term policy of hiring party cadres in that company, who are not qualified and do not know how to organize water supply.

- Last Friday, ViK employees addressed the public with a letter, in which they claim that the employment of about 30 new workers has been approved, including relatives and godchildren of management members. I have repeatedly asked questions about employment in Assembly sessions and have never received an answer. Obviously, ViK is hiding something from the public, and the responsible minister is not capable of ensuring the publication of this information - says MP Forto.

- The KS Government appointed Director Hadžić, although he does not have the professional qualifications to perform this complex and responsible job. From the day the KS Government appointed the new management of Vodovod until yesterday, the citizens of KS have not felt any progress, but they have certainly felt arrogance, which is best reflected in the fact that yesterday they could not even draft a simple apology to their citizens - added Forto.

Due to all of the above, Forto says, "Our Party demands that the Government take responsibility, and dismiss the Director of ViK, or otherwise, the responsible Minister should resign. At the same time, we demand that the Government clearly tell the citizens when they can expect the permanent abolition of restrictions and normal water supply."
