Traffic Disrupted on Most Routes, Increased Risk of Landslides

(Patria) - Due to unstable weather, occasional heavy downpours and larger amounts of water accumulating on the road surface, traffic is disrupted on most routes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is an increased risk of landslides on sections passing through cuts.

Due to works on repairing escarpments and unstable slopes, traffic has been suspended on the Jajce-Crna Rijeka main road. Vehicles are being redirected to the route via Jezero and Mrkonjić Grad towards Crna Rijeka.

Repair works are also ongoing on the main roads: Lašva-Kaonik, Lukavac-Šićki Brod, Kladanj-Vlasenica (Gojsalići), Dobro Polje-Miljevina, Bijeljina-Rača, Čevljanovići-Nišići and Semizovac-Srednje. At other locations where works are being carried out, traffic is moving slowly.

At border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic is currently flowing with delays of up to 30 minutes. Until the end of August, the Krstac border crossing (on the Gacko-Nikšić road) is open for passenger traffic.

Traffic is banned for vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum permissible mass at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tonnes are being redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses may use the Šepak border crossing.
