Father of vandal from Prijedor reported his son and apologised to imams at Čaršijska Mosque

Returnees, and indeed the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are shocked by the act of vandalism in Prijedor where the Čaršijska Mosque was attacked, reports the Patria news agency.

Due to the attack on the mosque, the police brought in 20-year-old Vladimir Mikanović from Prijedor. The rampage by a group of fans of the Serbian national basketball team and the breaking of windows at the mosque occurred after that team's defeat in the World Championship final against the USA.

Incidentally, as Behzad Čirkin, a deputy of the SDP BiH in the National Assembly of the RS, revealed on social media, he visited the Čaršijska Mosque in Prijedor this morning.

- I met with the head imam, Hasan efendija Makić, and the Čaršija imam, Omer ef. Redžić. They told me how the father of the perpetrator of the act of breaking the glass on the mosque window reported his son to the police and came, on behalf of his family, to apologise to the imams. Bravo, people - wrote Čerkin.
