SDP's REVIEW: Never more decisive, 'boycott of negotiations' should be followed by all pro-Bosnian parties

The Social Democratic Party of BiH today sent a proposal and a kind of appeal to international officials, and an ultimatum that all pro-Bosnian parties involved in the negotiations on amendments to the Election Law of BiH should at least follow.

"We want to be completely clear, if there is a lack of a clear and decisive reaction from the international community against those who have unequivocally set out to destroy the constitutional order, territorial integrity and the Dayton Agreement, the SDP Presidency will make a decision on its further participation, or lack thereof, in the negotiations at its session in the middle of the week. Talking about the election law in a situation where there is an unequivocal attack on the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina represents further buying time for secessionists and diverts attention from the real problems to which we must offer answers," said the SDP of BiH.

With this move, the SDP has shown that it is fully aware of the problem in which BiH and its future find themselves, and keeping in mind the position of pro-Bosnian parties when it comes to amendments to the Election Law. Various models are being offered 'with a gun to their head', but the moments are crucial, because every outcome of the negotiations will determine the character and future of BiH.

With such decisions, the SDP, as well as all others who will eventually follow such a stance, will send a message that Dodik's secessionist policy should not deceive the representatives of the international community into appeasing the president of the HDZ by making concessions, so that they finally turn their backs on him. That story has been read!

The partnership between Dodik and Čović has lasted too long, but in this game that Dodik has started, Dragan Čović will turn out to be the biggest loser. Namely, Čović has already lost a lot by trying to help Dodik, to the extent that he even supported the conclusion that amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH on the prohibition of genocide denial should be repealed, which was a political own goal for Čović.

It is clear to everyone that BiH should only function on compromise, but no compromise should be at any cost, especially not at the cost of the state. And, in both cases, Dodik's behavior and the amendments to the Election Law as Čović wants them, the state loses!

In the game of 'ethno-nationalists where everyone must give something to get something', those who advocate for a democratic BiH where every person enjoys equal rights, and where we will not have the apartheid that Čović offers us, could be deceived again.

Therefore, it is completely clear that negotiations at a time when the institutions of BiH are blocked and when the constitutional order of BiH is being destroyed make no sense. After all, BiH is in the hands of politicians from BiH, international officials are there to help, but without the moves of the participants themselves, no one will make any moves.
