Convicted pedophile and war criminal still works at Brčko hospital

Convicted pedophile and war criminal Svetomir Ilić, a former member of the Army of Republika Srpska, works unimpeded as a laboratory technician at the Health Center in Brčko, writes the BH news agency Patria (NAP), even though due to him, several citizens of Bosniak nationality refuse to perform any tests at this health institution.

In 2005, Ilić was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl, and in April 2014, the Cantonal Court in Tuzla sentenced him to six years in prison for war crimes against Bosniak prisoners in Smoluća in the summer of 1992.

However, as Ilić has the right to appeal the Cantonal Court's verdict to the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH, he has not yet ended up behind bars.

Enes Mahmutović, one of the many residents of Brčko demanding the dismissal of the criminal Ilić from the Health Center in Brčko, told the Info Brcko portal that he does not dare to take his child for laboratory tests because he fears that the criminal Ilić might falsify the results.

- I have informed the mayor, the head of the Brčko police, the Management Board, and the director of the Health Center in Brčko, Nihad Šibonjić, about this scandal in writing. But I have never received a concrete answer, warns Mahmutović, writes Patria.
