Will Lipovača and Gluhalić remain free? Attorney Hodžić claims the Cantonal Court is not competent

It will be known later today whether the Prime Minister of Una-Sana Canton Hamdija Lipovača and businessman Alen Gluhalić will be defended from freedom, confirmed for the news agency Patria Lipovača's attorney Salih Hodžić.

The Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH recently overturned the decision of the Cantonal Court in Bihać to release Lipovača and Gluhalić from custody. They are suspected of irregularities during the reconstruction of the Sports and Recreation Center "Stens" in Bihać.

- The Cantonal Court is in session today and I believe it will declare itself incompetent, especially due to the entry into force of the federal Law on Combating Corruption and Organized Crime on February 1. The decision on Lipovača's fate should be taken over by the Supreme Court of FBiH and the Federal Prosecutor's Office - said Hodžić.

Incidentally, Lipovača and Gluhalić were detained on December 17 last year, and after a month in custody, they were released.

According to the findings of the investigators, Lipovača, as the mayor of Bihać, contrary to the Law on Public Procurement, signed several annexes to the contract and a contract for performing additional works on the reconstruction of "Stens", thereby increasing the amount of investment, i.e., the profit of the construction company.
