Primary School "Isak Samokovlija" receives a donation of 6,500 KM

The Municipality of Centar Sarajevo is one of the few local communities that allocates financial resources from its budget to improve the education system and enhance the working conditions of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools located within its territory, despite not having direct jurisdiction over education.

From the municipal budget for 2016, 6,500 KM has been allocated to the Primary School "Isak Samokovlija", continuing the long-standing commitment to improving the working conditions in this educational institution.

In this way, the Municipality aims to provide young people, on whom the future of our entire community depends, with the highest possible quality of education.

The aforementioned funds were distributed based on the proposal of the Municipal Council Commission for Education, and in accordance with the established Criteria for the distribution of funds to educational institutions, as well as submitted requests and determined priorities.

Mirsada Jaganjac, acting director, thanked the Municipality of Centar, which has so far proven to be the school's largest donor.

- The Municipality of Centar truly provides support to schools for various purposes, thereby helping to solve accumulated problems. A big thank you to the Municipality of Centar for the donated funds, which we will use for the renovation of walls, doors, and sanitary facilities in the physical education hall. This hall is in very poor condition. Since the building was constructed in 1957, almost nothing has been done. I must emphasize that this local community cares about primary education, and for that, we are very grateful - Jaganjac said.

In the past few years, excluding the funds donated in 2016, the Municipality of Centar has allocated 116,500 KM for the renovation of the school building, and the equipping of cabinets and classrooms in this school, namely: 14,500 KM for the purchase of multimedia and computer equipment, 12,000 KM for the purchase of school furniture, 15,000 KM for equipping the physical education cabinets, 20,000 KM for asphalting the schoolyard, 19,000 KM for the renovation of the schoolyard, 5,000 KM for installing lighting in the schoolyard, 14,000 KM for renovating dampness on the north side of the building, 5,000 KM for equipping classrooms for creative and active learning, 5,000 KM for replacing sanitary facilities, and 7,000 KM for purchasing necessary equipment in the cabinets.
