Foundation for Cinematography of Sarajevo Canton Established

(Patria) - The Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, at the continuation of today's 25th session, passed the Decision on the establishment of the Foundation for Cinematography of Sarajevo Canton.

The Foundation for Cinematography of Sarajevo Canton is a new, permanent, and functional institution that will protect, develop, and support the film industry in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By establishing the Foundation, a historic step has been made in strengthening and institutionalizing support for film art and production, with which Sarajevo Canton confirms its status as a leader in the development of cultural policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, says that his ministry leaves behind deeds, not words.

The Law on Sports will soon be adopted, the Law on Co-financing of Cultural Institutions of BiH has been adopted, and the Foundation for Cinematography of Sarajevo Canton becomes a reality from today.

The strategy for culture of Sarajevo Canton is in its final phase, while infrastructural projects such as the Berber Museum and the southern stand of the Grbavica stadium are in full swing.

- We will very soon begin the restoration of the facade of the National Theatre Sarajevo and the reconstruction of the Historical Museum of BiH. These projects represent a systemic, long-term, and concrete approach to the development of culture and sports in Sarajevo Canton - emphasizes Magoda.

He stated that Sarajevo is a city of film, a city of culture and emotion.

- The establishment of the Foundation brings a new opportunity for authors, young talents, productions, film professionals, and all those who believe that culture can be a driver of development. Film is not an expense, film is an industry, an identity, and a story about us.

The Foundation will invest in creators, young people, and projects that preserve the spirit of Sarajevo and strengthen our cultural and economic scene. Sarajevo today has stable foundations on which it can build its cultural and sports future.

These are not the projects of one ministry, these are the foundations of a city that believes in its people, its talent, and its institutions - added Magoda.
