Osmica officially appointed Director of OSA

The Council of Ministers of BiH at today's session appointed Osman Mehmedagić, known as Osmica, as Director General, Trifko Buha as Deputy Director General, and Damir Bevanda as Chief Inspector of the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSA), reports the Patria News Agency.

The appointments were made after the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Work of OSA BiH gave its opinion that the legal conditions for proposing the new leadership had been met.

Mehmedagić was employed in the then-DB in 1984, during the Sarajevo Olympics. From 1991, he worked on the security of the members of the Presidency of BiH, and during the aggression against BiH, he was an escort for the first president of the Presidency of the Republic of BiH, Alija Izetbegović.

After the war, he worked in AID as an inspector for war crimes investigations, and has been in OSA since its establishment in 2004 as the head of the Eavesdropping Department.

He has been in the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH since its establishment in 2004.

He was awarded the highest police recognition, the Golden Police Badge. He attended a large number of training courses in educational centers in BiH and around the world, including the most famous school for intelligence officers, the International Intelligence Academy in Washington.

Almir Džuvo served as the Director of OSA for the past 10 years.
