Osmanović with Mayor of Doboj Jug: Flood damage amounts to 14 million KM

Federal Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Adil Osmanović received today, at the BiH Federation Government headquarters in Sarajevo, the Mayor of Doboj Jug Municipality Jasminka Begić, who informed him about the situation in this municipality after the catastrophic floods that caused significant damage to residential and infrastructural facilities, as well as road communications, reports the Patria News Agency.

Economic entities in the Doboj Jug municipality suffered particularly severe damage. As Mayor Begić emphasized, the estimated damage in this municipality is around 14 million KM. The residents of Doboj Jug, according to the Mayor, are also facing a great burden after receiving enormously high electricity bills, which were incurred due to the operation of pumps for water drainage and the water used for cleaning.

Minister Osmanović pointed out that the Ministry, within its capabilities, will provide assistance in refunding electricity and water costs, as well as in the reconstruction of damaged roads. He also informed the Mayor that a public call from the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and the Commission for Refugees is being prepared, which will allow flood-affected areas that have suffered the greatest damage to apply for assistance in order to mitigate the consequences of the natural disaster as much as possible.
