Osmanović received a delegation from the UAE: Joint projects to help returnees soon

Federal Minister for Displaced Persons and Refugees Adil Osmanović received a delegation from the United Arab Emirates today at the FBiH Government headquarters in Sarajevo, led by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations in the UAE Government, Tarik Ahmed, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Minister Osmanović presented the Ministry's projects to the delegation of representatives of the UAE Government and three humanitarian organizations from that country (Sheikh Zayed Foundation, Red Crescent, and Al-Sharika), in which their organizations can participate.

- Projects that are already showing good results and will be key in the continuation of this and the following years are the construction of residential buildings for younger returnee families, and farms for the production of chicken meat, milk, red meat, and berries and vegetables - said Osmanović, informing the guests that joint projects of this Ministry, government and non-governmental organizations are extremely desirable, and that pooling resources significantly increases the number of beneficiaries, thus contributing to the survival of the returnee population in their homes.

The Minister explained that more than 10,000 returnee families apply for all public calls of the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, with the majority of claims relating to agriculture and crafts.    

- We have managed to help a significant number of displaced persons return to their pre-war homes, but the obligation remains to provide them with support in achieving conditions for a dignified life - added Minister Osmanović.

Members of the UAE delegation expressed their readiness to participate in joint projects that will, in this way, strengthen bilateral relations in all spheres of social life. On this occasion, they invited Minister Osmanović to visit the UAE in order to concretize future cooperation.
