Osmanović: Competent institutions must protect cultural heritage

Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH and Chairman of the State Commission for UNESCO Adil Osmanović strongly condemned the vandalism in Mostar and the damage caused to the Old Bridge, which is under UNESCO protection, the Ministry announced, as reported by the Patria news agency.

Minister Osmanović pointed out that the Old Bridge in Mostar is a symbol of peace and reconciliation among peoples, a symbol of coexistence.

-The Old Bridge has immeasurable significance both in cultural and historical terms, as well as in building connections among peoples, Osmanović said.

Osmanović expressed confidence that the competent institutions will, within their powers, take the necessary activities to no longer allow individuals to damage cultural heritage, the statement reads.
