Osmanović: Procurement of long-barreled weapons by the RS Ministry of Interior is a violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The story of the domestic and international public regarding the purchase of 2,500 automatic rifles for the Ministry of Interior of the BiH entity Republika Srpska is still not calming down.

Analysts are calling for caution from NATO and Europe, "given Russia's influence on the BiH entity and the separatist aspirations of the entity's president, Milorad Dodik."

Adil Osmanović, Minister of Civil Affairs in the Council of Ministers, who fills the quota from the RS in this state body, says that the procurement of this weaponry for the needs of the RS Ministry of Interior is a violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

- The Dayton Peace Agreement has also been violated, which addresses the military aspect. Accordingly, there must be regional stability, that is, balance in the procurement of weapons, not to mention within BiH. The procurement of weapons must be under the full control of state institutions. There was no timely information, which is why we have justified condemnation of such moves - said Osmanović.

He emphasized that the reaction of the domestic and international public is justified.

- We know everything that has happened when it comes to the RS entity, we know what the International Criminal Court established regarding the RS Ministry of Interior in Srebrenica, and from that perspective, they least needed to make such a move - added Osmanović, reports the Patria agency.
