Osmanović and Ahmetović Request Review of Dismissal Decision

Adil Osmanović, Vice-President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), confirmed to the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) that he will request a review of the SDA Presidency's decision to dismiss the Security Committee. Today, another SDA Vice-President, Safet Softić, stated at a press conference that the decision was agreed upon.

However, Osmanović says otherwise. He was not even present at the Presidency session and says that such a decision was made hastily and that such an important matter should not have been decided under the 'miscellaneous' agenda item.

- This has never been done this way in the SDA. Such a decision should have been seriously considered by the party's Collegium, and then presented to the SDA Presidency. The Presidency could not consider it under 'miscellaneous'. The members of the Presidency were not adequately informed of all the reasons stated – Osmanović said.

He also emphasized that SDA President Sulejman Tihić did not give his consent for this, as some wish to portray.

- He only discussed how it might be good to dissolve that committee and form a new one that the current situation in BiH requires – Osmanović added, explaining that a few days ago at the SDA Collegium, he raised the issue of reviewing this decision.

- This decision should be reviewed, people should be invited for a conversation, and the real reasons for dissolving this committee should be presented to them, and then the Presidency should proceed to change this decision – Osmanović added.

Sadik Ahmetović, another SDA Vice-President, also stated that at this moment, the party does not need any decisions that will disrupt its unity before the elections.

- I think we should have openly discussed everything that is a problem, and if there is a problem, it should have gone through the legitimate decision-making procedure – Ahmetović told NAP. He further explained that he was not informed at all that such a decision would be made, even though he is a member of the committee and a vice-president of the party.

- This was unnecessary because every problem and issue should be raised at the party's Collegium, Presidency, and other bodies, and agreement should be reached so that no individual within the party's structure is presented with a fait accompli, and thus contribute to the unnecessary talk about rifts within the party – Ahmetović added.
