Acquittal for Asim Sarajlić, Sabahudin Delalić and Muhamed Šehović

(Patria) - Asim Sarajlić, Sabahudin Delalić and Muhamed Šehović were acquitted of charges of influence peddling in a first-instance verdict, which is subject to appeal.

Sarajlić, Delalić and Šehović were acquitted of charges that, from 20 to 25 February 2020, through Šehović, they arranged a meeting with Velid Tvrtković, ahead of the scheduled internal party elections for the president of the SDA Sarajevo Cantonal Committee, which were planned for 26 February 2020 and in which the proposed candidates were members Semir Efendić and Fikret Prevljak.

According to the indictment, they promised Tvrtković that, by using their social and influential positions based on their roles within the SDA, they would employ his wife in one of the institutions where SDA cadres hold leadership positions, if he gave his vote to their candidate for the said position – Prevljak – in those elections.

As stated in the indictment, during that period, Sarajlić was a member of the Presidency, i.e., Vice President of the SDA, Delalić was a member of the Executive Board of the SDA Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipal Organisation, and Šehović was a former technical secretary of the party.

The retrial occurred after the verdict delivered in February 2023, which also acquitted them, was overturned.

This verdict is subject to appeal.
