Insured persons of the Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton have the right to emergency medical care in 14 countries, insurance application must be submitted before travel

(Patria) - Insured persons of the Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton (ZZO KS) have the right to emergency medical care abroad.

"Insured persons can be sure that we will cover all costs of emergency medical care. Our services are available and tailored to ensure the best possible care for our users, even when they are outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said the Director of the Institute, Muamer Kosovac, earlier.

To exercise the right to travel insurance, citizens need to submit an application at the ZZO KS branches.

"Along with the application, it is necessary to attach a certificate of health assessment from the medical institution where the medical record is kept, as well as additional medical documentation in case of chronic diseases. The right to travel insurance can be exercised for up to 30 days in a calendar year," said Kosovac.

The countries with which ZZO KS has an agreement on emergency medical care are: Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Italy, North Macedonia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Luxembourg, and the Czech Republic.

Insured persons should submit their travel insurance applications in a timely manner to ensure they are covered in case of emergency medical needs.
