Eight MPs in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted an initiative to dismiss Zukan Helez

(Patria) - The SNSD Caucus and the Serbian Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina today submitted an initiative to dismiss the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez.

The Initiative for the reconstruction of the Council of Ministers states that in the very short period since his appointment as minister, i.e., since January 25, his statements and actions have caused a series of harmful actions that have had and continue to have a negative impact both on the ministry he belongs to and on the Council of Ministers.

"Since the moment of his appointment, the statements he has made and continues to make in his capacity as Minister of Defense have caused and continue to cause unjustified and unnecessary panic and fear in the public, both among citizens and among the academic and professional public," the Initiative states.

The latest in a series of statements by which Helez caused public concern and the spread of misinformation, the parliamentarians from the Republika Srpska pointed out, is the statement that there are paramilitary formations on the territory of Republika Srpska that are being trained, and that people from Russia are also participating in them," it is stated.

It was warned that this statement is aimed solely at spreading misinformation, Russophobia, and tarnishing the institutions of Republika Srpska, primarily the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.

They also state that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has opened a case regarding these allegations, and that there is a possibility that the minister will be convicted again for the criminal offense of giving false statements, given that he was previously willing to commit that criminal offense.

Furthermore, they emphasize that Helez's statements undermine the provisions of the Dayton Agreement, whose basic goal was to achieve and maintain peace and stability among the three constituent peoples and others, and to prevent possible new conflicts.
