Eight unions before the KS Government: A hot December awaits us

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Members of eight unions will gather in front of the KS Government building while the KS Assembly session is being held to discuss the Draft Budget for 2022, dissatisfied with the projected base salary for 2022. The unions are demanding an increase of the base salary to 400 KM, negotiations with the KS Government, and the withdrawal of the Draft Budget for 2022.

The protest rally will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and a warning strike in organizational units will take place on the same day from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

Saudin Sivro, president of the Independent Union of Primary Education of FBiH - Cantonal Board KS, stated that if an agreement is not reached, large protests will occur.

"We will not adhere to epidemiological measures, we are talking about several thousand of our members. A hot December awaits us, and we call on the Government and the Assembly to respect our demands. The KS Government will have to negotiate with the unions, we will remain united," said Sivro.

The warning strike is being organized by the Independent Union of Primary Education of FBiH - Cantonal Board KS together with the Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Education, Science and Culture of BiH – Cantonal Board KS, the Union of Civil Servants and Employees in State Administration Bodies, Judiciary and Public Institutions in FBiH – Coordination Board Sarajevo, the KS Police Union, the University of Sarajevo Union, the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of KS, the KS Healthcare Union, and the Independent Union of Communal Economy.

A demand for a salary increase in the communal economy sector has been put forward.

If there are no results, the unions will continue with preparations for a general strike, it was stated at yesterday's press conference of the eight unions.

Sadik Ećo, president of the KS Police Union, stated that the demands of all unions are completely justified.

"In the coming period, we will decide on further activities. As for the security situation, it is under control and will not be jeopardized by this protest," said Ećo.
