Armed Forces of BiH Ready to Make Resources Available to Assist in Pandemic Protection

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Armed Forces of BiH are ready to make resources available to assist the civilian population in protecting against the pandemic. The current situation in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus primarily requires the engagement of the health system in BiH, while the engagement of the Armed Forces of BiH will be defined by special decisions of the BiH Presidency, at the request of competent institutions. So far, the BiH Presidency has not made a decision on the use of the Armed Forces of BiH resources.

The Armed Forces of BiH will make their capacities available. The engagement of the Armed Forces of BiH would include the setting up and maintenance of tent facilities at border crossings and other planned locations. We are currently preparing personnel and material-technical resources for setting up tents at specific locations, which will be delivered and approved by a special request from the BiH Presidency as the supreme commander. If the BiH Presidency requests another form of engagement, the Armed Forces of BiH will be put into function and respond in accordance with the request, whether it involves the engagement of necessary personnel or the provision of material-technical resources.

We emphasize once again that the Armed Forces of BiH will act at the request and with the approval of the BiH Presidency, and will be ready to respond in accordance with their legally prescribed mission and, depending on available capacities, provide assistance to the civilian population throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
