Organised New Year's Eve celebrations only with VTP certificates, ski resorts still without them

(Patria) - At the proposal of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton, the Government of Sarajevo Canton adopted a conclusion allowing organised New Year's Eve celebrations in indoor premises of catering facilities in the area of Sarajevo Canton, in compliance with hygiene-epidemiological measures.

All guests of these facilities will have to possess one of the so-called VTP (vaccinated/tested/recovered) certificates, namely: a vaccination certificate, a negative antigen or PCR test not older than 48 hours, or a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 infection in the last six months.

Mandatory distancing between guests (one person per seven square metres) must also be observed, as stated in the conclusion.
„The organiser will be responsible for implementing these measures. Otherwise, the organiser will be considered to be violating the measures of the competent authorities and action will be taken under Article 71.a of the Law on Inspections of Sarajevo Canton,“ it is also stated.

One of the aforementioned VTP certificates is also mandatory for persons using short-term accommodation services in Sarajevo Canton.

It has been determined that at the ski resorts "Bjelašnica" and "Igman" it is not necessary to have one of the VTP certificates, but at these locations, supervision of compliance with the recommendations/hygiene-epidemiological measures of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton will be intensified.
"If inspection supervision determines repeated violations at the ski resorts, the application of VTP certificates will be introduced," the conclusion states.

Control over the implementation of all the aforementioned measures will be carried out by the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.

The Government's conclusion also stipulates that the Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton, will conduct screening testing for COVID-19 of students and teaching staff by 31 December 2021. Parental consent is mandatory for testing children under 18 years of age.
