Organization "Srebrenica Wave" awarded "Bridge for the Future" prize

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A group of Francophone ambassadors and heads of mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Srebrenica today to present the public recognition "Bridge for the Future" to the organization "Srebrenica Wave".

This special recognition, awarded for the third consecutive year, aims to reward an individual or group for their efforts in promoting dialogue between cultures and a culture of dialogue. This symbolic award commends the goodwill to build bridges between different ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as demonstrating that such goodwill exists and comes naturally in various forms.

The "Bridge for the Future" recognition was previously awarded to the Center for Children and Youth with Special Needs Los Rosales from Mostar (2018) and to an informal group of students from the Secondary Vocational School Jajce and the Secondary School "Nikola Šop" Jajce (2017).

The head of the diplomatic office of Belgium and the ambassadors of Egypt, France, Switzerland, and the deputy head of mission of the German embassy attended this ceremony and presented the award to the director of "Srebrenica Wave", Muamer Čivić.

“Bridge for the Future – Le pont pour l’avenir” is awarded on the occasion of March 20, the International Day of Francophonie, which celebrates dialogue and the universal values of peace, cooperation, solidarity and sustainable development. Since 2010, Bosnia and Herzegovina has had observer status in this organization.
