Pomozi.ba Organization Has Donated Nearly Seven Million Marks for Flood-Affected Areas So Far

(Patria) - Of the total funds collected so far, the Pomozi.ba Association has donated nearly seven million convertible marks, specifically 6,954,530.68 KM for flood-affected areas and families who suffered huge material damage, as well as irreparable human losses in the floods.

These are donations made by citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina living in their homeland and in the diaspora for the affected areas through the Pomozi.ba organization, and a large number of firms and companies, as well as various domestic and foreign organizations, have also participated in the aid.

"Although a lot of work has been done so far, there are still funds available and a bigger job awaits us in the coming period. To date, we have directly helped nearly 350 families, and through our field operations, we have also helped hundreds of other families. We have donated the most funds to solve the housing issues of affected families, both those whose homes were completely destroyed and those who suffered partial damage.

Furthermore, every family that had a deceased member received a donation of 30,000 convertible marks solely on that basis.

In addition to monetary donations, we have also donated 56 cars, construction materials, furniture, appliances, food, water, and hygiene supplies to the population affected by the floods. In the first phase, we also helped with donations of shovels, wheelbarrows, generators, dryers, and pressure washers. For areas where water supply was interrupted, about 30,000 meters of special hoses were donated for this purpose. There were also donations of concrete blocks for retaining walls and many other donations.

A special segment includes donations through machinery, where at one point we had dozens of machines in the field, working for days to clear the flooded areas. More than 50 various machines have been engaged in the field through our organization so far, including excavators of various sizes, backhoe loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, mini dumpers, etc., and some of the machinery is still in the field, where it will continue to work in the affected areas until further notice.

At crucial moments, specifically in the first days after the floods, when the heating system in the primary school in Jablanica was destroyed, we donated burners worth 20,753.46 KM, and we helped schools from flood-affected areas with tablets, computers, school supplies, pellets, and various other necessary equipment, so that students could return to school as soon as possible.

Funds were allocated to the Jablanica Health Center for the repair of some of the damage caused by the floods, and a field vehicle was donated, which will significantly facilitate the work of medical staff. This includes timely assistance to people living in rural areas that are difficult to access due to destroyed roads.

We remind you that the Pomozi.ba organization, during the "Floods 2024" campaign launched at the beginning of October, immediately after this catastrophic natural disaster, has so far collected more than 9 million convertible marks, and donations are still arriving.
