Indictment for smuggling about 55 kg of marijuana

(Patria) - The accused Danilović Marko (1999) from Herceg Novi is accused of smuggling about 55 kilograms of the narcotic drug marijuana-"skunk" from Montenegro into Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the intention of further smuggling it into the Republic of Croatia, in which he was discovered and prevented, and the narcotic drug was seized.

The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption has filed an indictment against Danilović Marko, born in 1999 in Kotor, residing in Herceg Novi, a citizen of Montenegro.

The accused is charged with transporting 50 packages with a total weight of 55.402 kg of the narcotic drug marijuana in a specially made container in a freight motor vehicle with Montenegrin license plates, which he was driving, in order to obtain illegal property benefits.

The accused smuggled the aforementioned narcotic drug into Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 24 this year, and intended to smuggle it further into the Republic of Croatia and the EU area, in which he was discovered and prevented by members of the Border Police of BiH at the Gradiška border crossing.

The seized quantity of the narcotic drug reaches a price of several hundred thousand euros on the illegal drug market of EU countries. The accused is in custody and is charged with committing the criminal offense of unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs from Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
