Indictment against three persons for international smuggling of large quantities of drugs

An indictment has been filed in the case code-named „rover“ for international smuggling of large quantities of narcotic drugs.

Three defendants are charged with participating, as part of an organized group, in the smuggling of large quantities of the narcotic drug marijuana-„skunk“, from Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption filed an indictment against Balavac Srebrenko, born in 1962 in Stolac, Balavac Smaila, born in 1966 in Mostar, and Hrstić Nikola, born in 1964 in Ljubuški.

The defendants are charged with, during 2017, as part of an organized group organized by the defendant Balavac Srebrenko, participating in the smuggling and further sale on the illegal drug market in BiH of large quantities of the narcotic drug marijuana-„skunk“, which they obtained from persons known to them from the area of Montenegro, and then smuggled into the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and carried out repackaging and further distribution of the drug in the area of Mostar, Herzegovina and BiH.

According to the indictment, the defendants smuggled at least 9 kilograms of the narcotic drug marijuana-„skunk“ into BiH on two occasions, which they sold in the territory of BiH for an amount of about 25,000 KM, and a search of the premises used by the defendants found and seized the narcotic drug marijuana-„skunk“, in an amount of about 1 kilogram.

The defendants are charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized trafficking in narcotic drugs under Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

Also, during the search of the premises used by the defendants Balavac Srebrenko and Balavac Smaila, a modified military rifle and one M-75 bomb were found and seized, the procurement and possession of which are in no way permitted for citizens, and the said defendants are also charged with the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons or explosive substances under Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.

The indictment has been forwarded for confirmation to the Court of BiH.
