Indictment against Nenad Bubalo: Committed crimes against humanity in the area of Bihać

The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Nenad Bubalo, born in 1954 in Split, Republic of Croatia, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia.

The accused is charged with participating in a widespread and systematic attack during June and July 1992, in his capacity as deputy commander of the Military Police of the 15th Bihać Brigade of the VRS, and committing murders and persecution of the Bosniak civilian population due to their national and religious affiliation.

The accused is charged with, along with other members of the VRS Military Police, participating in the taking away of at least five captured men, civilians of Bosniak nationality from the Ljutočka dolina area, from the "IMT Tractors Service" Ripač camp, as well as their murders in Hrgar, after which the victims' bodies were thrown into the natural pit "Bezdana", where during the exhumation in 1997, the remains of 83 people were found, including the remains of the said captured civilians.

The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense of crimes against humanity under Article 172, paragraph 1, point h) in conjunction with point a), all in conjunction with Articles 29 and 180, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
